I have been with The Shipping Corporation of India Limited for 34 years. Eighteen Years at Sea, of which ten years in Command of various ship types – 123465 DWT OBO, Container ship, General Cargo ship, Crude Oil Tanker, Lighterage Tanker, two passenger ships, product tanker and a bulk carrier. Sixteen years ashore, of which two years as a technical superintendent, two years in container operations and 12 years in teaching. I have a M.Sc. in Maritime Education and Training from the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden. Presently Dean of Nautical Studies at the SCI Maritime Training Institute in Powai, Mumbai. Additional honorary duties involve: Govt. of India, Directorate General of Shipping External Examiner for Masters and Mates. External Examiner for Mumbai University B.Sc. in Nautical Technology External Examination Superintendent for Indira Gandhi National Open University. Member of the Govt. of India, Directorate General of Shipping Western Academic Council
